The Man

The princess

Your absence darkness

The apple of your eye

Remembering to live with pride

Your first

My heart burst

Splinters on the floor,

slivers in my hand

I can pick up no more

I'm frozen

My memories of you like the ocean

Some other time maybe I can talk to you

It's been such a long time since you said I could do anything

Ways to cut through all the noise

Maybe all I want is one more time to hear your voice

In my mind I know your're still

In the woods enjoying peace taking in what you love

In the kitchen apple pie bragging about blue ribbons you won

Telling stories from your youth and the all the places you'd run

Just to get away from it all

You're still the compass on all my maps

I no longer bleed to make wrongs right

I just remember who I am

And I'm a McCleary

And I can do anything

A simple man

With no rules

I wanna be like you all I need is a plan

Your praise illumates my track

Round one

Round two

Three four now

I go round and round with myself now

I look at me and see you in the mirror

Up early, high speed, always looking for the next best thing

Your words make a vision and bigger picture clearer

But these days you're more than a human being

You're the spirit I feel when I see the deer on a foggy fall morning

You're the memories I recall when the wind ruseles the trees my love starts forming

You're the voices in my head when doubt set in

I can do anything I shouldn't be ignoring

Some other time maybe I can talk to you

It's been such a long time since you said I could do anything

Ways to cut through all the noise

Maybe all I want is one more time to hear your voice

In my mind I know your still

In the woods enjoying peace taking in what you love

In the kitchen apple pie bragging about blue ribbons you won

Telling stories from your youth and the all the places you'd run

Just to get away from it all

You're still the compass on all my maps

I no longer bleed to make wrongs right

I just remember who I am

And I'm a McCleary

And I can do anything

Some other time

Been such a long time

One more time
